The equipment

Seven kinds of units, one call

Every model has its own page with measurements, tank size and the jobs it’s wrong for. The rentals overview lines them up in one table.

The everyday standard unit

Non-flushing seat over a 60-gallon tank, plus a urinal, tissue and a roof vent. It is what most El Paso crews, yard parties and ranch jobs rent, and it fits through a 48-inch gate on a dolly.

Two standard blue portable toilets with translucent roofs ready for delivery

Flushing deluxe with a basin

Press the pedal and it flushes with clean water from its own tank; there is also a sink, soap and towels. Nothing to hook up, which makes it the usual pick for weddings and quinces.

Deluxe flushable portable toilet interior with a lidded toilet seat, flush pedal and stocked paper shelf

Standard cabin with a basin

The same small footprint as the standard unit, with a foot-pump basin added. Handy for food trucks and small crews that don’t want a separate wash station.

Foot-pump hand-washing sink built into a deluxe portable toilet, no water hookup required

ADA-compliant and accessible

The ADA cabins give a wheelchair user a 60-inch turning circle, grab bars and a step-free door. A smaller accessible model suits backyards where an 8-foot cabin won’t fit.

Four blue standard portable toilets lined up on a stamped-concrete patio between palm trees

Air-conditioned restroom trailers

Real flushing toilets and running-water vanities in a cooled trailer, two stalls or four. You supply a hose bib and a 110-volt outlet; we bring everything else.

Two-stall restroom trailer with separate entry doors and fold-down steps

Two-person hand-wash stations

Freestanding, 22 gallons of clean water, foot pumps, soap and towels. Put one next to the food line and one beside every group of job-site toilets.

Grey portable toilet with a freestanding hand-wash station set up on a lawn

Lift-ready high-rise units

Narrow enough to roll through a standard door with the roof off, and fitted to be picked by a crane or hoist for upper floors.

The process

How an El Paso rental runs, start to finish

  1. Call or send the formGive us the address, the dates, roughly how many people, and whether it’s a one-time event or an ongoing site.
  2. Match the unitWe suggest the model that fits your crowd, your gate and your ground, and say plainly when a cheaper unit will do.
  3. Get it in writingRental, delivery, pickup or removal, cleaning visits and tax, each on its own line, by text or email.
  4. Plan the drop-offMark the spot, share gate codes and a contact. Trailers also need a hose bib and a 110-volt outlet confirmed.
  5. Delivery dayEvent units usually arrive a day early. Job sites start their 28-day billing on delivery.
  6. Cleaning visitsUnits that stay are cleaned weekly unless your quote says otherwise; extra event visits are booked ahead.
  7. Pickup or renewalEvent units leave on the agreed day. Ongoing units renew every 28 days until you call to have them removed.
Desert conditions

Renting a porta potty in the Chihuahuan Desert

El Paso is high, dry and sunny about 300 days a year. That changes where a unit should sit and how often it needs attention.

Spring wind

February through May brings gusts over 40 mph and dust. Units go against a wall or fence, and exposed ones get strapped or staked.

Summer heat

June highs often pass 100°F at 3,700 feet of elevation. Shade the door side, keep units off black asphalt, and keep weekly cleaning.

Monsoon storms

July to September storms are short and heavy. Arroyos and low lots flood fast, so keep units out of washes and drainage paths.

Winter freezes

Nights below freezing are common from December to February. We use winter-rated chemical, and basin units may need closer attention on cold mornings.

Pricing

What sets the price of an El Paso rental

Four things: where the unit goes, which unit it is, how long it stays and how often it is cleaned. Short events are one package price. Job sites and properties pay per 28-day cycle, cleaning included, until they ask for removal.

Nothing is booked until you have approved a written quote with every charge on its own line.

Counting units quickly

Events: start with one standard unit per 75 guests at the busiest hour, then add one for every four if drinks are served. Job sites: OSHA asks for one toilet up to 20 workers and one seat plus one urinal per 40 after that.

Set-up

Where it goes, permits and cleaning

Choosing the spot

  • Level and firm. Concrete, asphalt, packed caliche or flat dirt. Loose sand and sloped desert lots let a unit lean.
  • A path for the truck. The vacuum truck parks within hose reach, so leave a clear lane on cleaning day.
  • Gate width. A standard unit is 43.5″ wide and rolls on a dolly, so a side gate needs about 48″ of clear opening.
  • Overhead and swing room. Stay clear of power lines, low branches and rooflines, and leave space for the door to open all the way.
  • Wind. Spring wind in El Paso gusts hard enough to push a unit over in an open lot. Set it against a wall or fence, and tell us if the spot is exposed so we can stake or strap it.
  • Arroyos and low spots. Summer monsoon storms send water down washes fast. Keep units out of drainage paths.
  • Locked gates. Share the code or lockbox when you book; a locked gate on cleaning day means the visit is missed.

Permits in El Paso

Private property you control, like your own yard, driveway or job site, usually needs no permit. A unit in a street, on a sidewalk or in a city park needs approval from the City of El Paso first. Outside city limits, El Paso County handles county roads. HOAs in the Far East and Westside subdivisions often have their own rules. Getting the permit is up to the renter; we supply the unit size and service schedule the form asks for.

What a cleaning visit includes

  • Before it leaves our yard: tank pumped, walls and floor scrubbed, sanitized, checked for damage, restocked.
  • On each visit: the technician vacuums the tank, cleans every surface, adds fresh deodorizer and refills paper, plus soap, towels and basin water where fitted.
  • How often: weekly is standard for units that stay. Very light use can be set to a longer gap; one customer chose once a month. In El Paso’s summer heat we advise against stretching past a week.
  • Extra visits: long festivals and busy job sites can add visits, priced in the quote up front.
  • Disposal: waste goes to an approved disposal facility, hauled by our permitted crew.

If something goes wrong

Wind tips a unit, a visit gets missed, a tank fills early, or you need it moved: call us. Our own crew handles it on the next route, and sanitation problems jump the line.

Questions

El Paso porta potty questions

The full list, covering billing, ADA units and job-site rules, is on our questions page.

Do you deliver to my part of El Paso?

Yes, from the Westside and Upper Valley to the Far East and the Lower Valley, plus Socorro, Horizon City, San Elizario, Fabens, Canutillo, Anthony and the New Mexico side: Sunland Park, Santa Teresa, Chaparral and Las Cruces. Look up your ZIP:

How soon can a unit get to my address?

Our trucks run 8 AM–6 PM Mountain Time on set routes. Weekend event units normally arrive Friday and are picked up Monday, or the day after a holiday. If you need it sooner, phone us: we check what’s free while you wait, and we confirm a date only once a driver is assigned. We don’t promise after-dark drop-offs, so plan for the day before.

Which unit fits what I’m planning?

Tap the closest match:

Most yard parties and crews in El Paso use a standard unit. For a quince or wedding, people usually choose the flushing deluxe or an air-conditioned trailer.

How are the units kept clean in El Paso heat?

Every unit is scrubbed and restocked before it goes out, and units that stay get a visit each week. June afternoons here often top 100°F, which speeds up odor, so we don’t recommend going longer than a week between cleanings from May through September. What a cleaning visit covers.

What will it cost in El Paso?

It depends on the address, the unit, how long it stays and the cleaning schedule, and every charge appears on the written quote. Two real examples from our office: $249 for a standard unit over a weekend, both trips included, and $247.20 for a job-site unit’s first 28 days, then $205 per 4 weeks and $29 to remove it. More examples.

What about the spring wind?

From about February to May, gusts over 40 mph and blowing dust are common. Put the unit against a building, wall or fence, never alone in an open lot, and tell us if the spot is exposed so we can strap or stake it.

Can you deliver on Fort Bliss?

Base sites need access approval for our driver, which the contractor or unit on post arranges. Give us the contact and a few days’ notice, and we’ll schedule it around the gate process.

Do I need a city permit?

Not on your own driveway, yard or job site. A unit in the street, on a sidewalk or in a park needs approval from the City of El Paso; outside city limits, check with El Paso County. On the New Mexico side, Sunland Park, Las Cruces and Doña Ana County each handle their own. We give you the unit size and cleaning schedule for the application.

Can I pick a unit up from your office?

No. 1225 Texas Ave is our office, not a yard. Our drivers deliver, set up and collect every unit.
